Following the stabilisation of property markets and record low interest rates at the end of 2012, data from realestate.com.au New Years’ Resolution study (December 2012) shows people are making property a priority as they head into 2013.

According to the realestate.com.au New Years’ Resolution Survey, nearly 60% of respondents are looking to purchase a residential property in 2013 and nearly a third of respondents (28%) are planning to sell their property and upgrade to something bigger1.

The realestate.com.au research shows that people feel secure in their jobs (75%), and that high priorities for 2013 include putting more money on the mortgage and building personal savings.

General Manager Sales and Operations at realestate.com.au, Arthur Charlaftis, says that the results of the survey show that visitors to realestate.com.au are confident about the property market, yet remain money conscious, with increasing savings and decreasing mortgage debt at the top of minds.
